Week 6

Week 6
Hi all
The term is flying by and there are only 3 weeks until camp.  I spent Sunday in the Tutira area, checking out the venue and its surrounds.  I am really looking forward to our 4 days of outdoor education.  It will create many positive memories! The notice for parents attending camp will be out today.

The swimming sports were a success as was the water slide. Due to popular demand the water slide will be repeated on Thursday.  The inter-school swimming sports will be held at Onekawa pools this year and notices should be out on Monday for those selected to compete

There are 6 children from Room 6 representing the school in Beach Fives on Thursday at Ocean Beach.  Good luck children!

Not all testing was completed last week due to delays in receiving the test so we will finish them this week.

Remember to book a time for parent/teacher interviews.  Click here to go straight to the website schoolinterviews.co.nz

This week in the classroom:

Language:  We will be investigating homographs and trying to eliminate the confusion they can cause.  I will be starting the Literacy Evolution programme which has been designed to improve spelling and writing skills.  Spelling this week will be words relevant to this programme.

Maths: We will continue to focus on addition and subtraction.

Topic: Cools Schools.  We will be looking at characteristics of conflict resolution techniques.  Check out the Cool Schools page and discuss with your children.
