More Orienteering Success

The Haumoana Orienteering team continued its success last weekend in the relays, managing to fight their way through the mud.

The girls teams finished first and second while the boys team finished second.

These results along with full Haumoana podiums in the girls individual events meant we took out the Inter-school competition in both the girls and boys Primary School divisions.

Week 6

Personification, multiplication and an Italian presentation are topics covered this week!  To top it off, we have a hangi on Friday.

We also start our inter-school netball practice, where we need 4 teams.  It's a great game and it would be good to see most of Room 6 giving it a go!

There will also be some children attending a Mathletics evening at Hastings Intermediate on Thursday evening.

HNI Tech Tasters new date is the 24th June.

The week that was. . .

A short week but a very busy one as children were in and out of class attending a range of events - extra performance and choir practices, rugby, instrumental  and ICAS exams.

In class, we have been focussing on our "around the world" learning as well as utilising our new devices and on-line software.  The children have been patient as we have worked around the power and internet interruptions during our SNUPS upgrade.

Expect to see and share more of your children's work on-line in the next few weeks.  The blogs are taking shape and the Google Drive component is enabling children to share or finish work in their own time.  Take time to check out all the children's work.  The links are on this blog.

IXL Maths has been a success with a total of 15,000 questions answered in the last 3 weeks!  Well done Room 6.

Congratulations to the inter-school touch rugby teams who represented the school well this week.  And a big thank you to parents who spent their Sunday monitoring their children's success at the Sprint Orienteering Champs at EIT this morning. Room 6  and Haumoana dominated the podium for the 4th year in a row!
